Few processes are more stressful than deciding upon the best place to move a loved one when it is determined that a move to memory care is the best option. Keep in mind that when this decision needs to be made, it is often critically important, not only for the well-being of the person with dementia, but in order to maintain the health and safety of the family member who is their current care partner.

Thanks for pointing out that we have to make sure that the memory care community facility has staff that is trained to actually work with different types of dementia. I will share this tip with my mom so that she will pick the right place for gradnddad. He just needs to be taken care of, since we are usually away from morning until the afternoon. So it can be dangerous for him to be alone at home during those hours.
